Of interest: a small wooden peg utilized as some sort of marker. I rarely see wooden markers of any kind in the Mid-Atlantic region. I have no idea how old the wooden marker is, why it is so close to the larger headstone, or indeed if it is actually marking a burial.

I was at Cabin John Park yesterday and happened upon one of the Talbot county wye oak offsprings. Planted at the park in 1976 (I had never noticed...)
