Of interest: a small wooden peg utilized as some sort of marker. I rarely see wooden markers of any kind in the Mid-Atlantic region. I have no idea how old the wooden marker is, why it is so close to the larger headstone, or indeed if it is actually marking a burial.

Are there any records that identify who is buried in Zion Cemetery (especially identifying those for whom markers have long since become part of the dust of history)?
ReplyDeleteHi there, I have never done research here. Have you tried contacting the church directly? Many of the older churches have their records on site (or at a trusted congregant's home). Good luck!!
