I remember about six or seven years ago, in the old Virginia Room, archaeologist Patrick O'Neill told me about this wonderful, albeit seemingly unusually located structure. (The church-turned-private residence was removed here from its original location at Twinbrook & Braddock long before the current subdivision was built.)
Patrick was like "you are just driving down this suburban neighborhood street and you turn a corner and this OLD CHURCH looms up out of nowhere". I was intrigued and payed a (pre-iPhone) visit to check it out. I happen to be passing by today and went back to take some photos for the blog. Just happens to currently be on the market for $850,000 and it's gorgeous.
