Have you been to Sotterley?
I met the Sotterley staff 2 years ago when we both spoke at the National Park Service's Network To Freedom conference. The topic, of course, was the Underground Railroad, but the Sotterley folks also talked about the property's original restored slave cabin [in situ & one of the only cabins still accessible to the public.] Last weekend I finally got my chance to journey down to Southern Maryland and see the site. What a marvelous place it was. Simply fantastic!
Really...you should go.
(The photos are a bit too big for the website layout, but I felt too big was better than too small.)
