I was honored to have anthropologist Dr. Britt Halvorson along on this wander. I always love to hear her observations on all historical, material culture and necrogeographical matters.

Wow... Thanks for researching this cemetery. My father passed away when I was 5 years old I am now 31. He's buried somewhere in your pictures. I haven't visited this place since that day. After seeing these pictures I have a desire to go find his plot. I hope I can.

  2. Thank you so very much for the pictures. My father died in 1973 and is buried here. I haven't had the courage to go there. When I would ask about his resting place, I was told that "it wasn't a nice place." What a shame that a "historical landmark" is so poorly kept. Shame on Sarasota County for not maintaining this place. You are truly an angel. God Bless You

I just stumbled onto this cemetery by accident. I LOVE historical cemeteries. The front gate is padlocked. Is there another entrance? Beautiful photos! -Alice-
