Cub Run Memorial Garden, Fairfax County, VA

Cub Run Memorial Garden
Fairfax County Public Library Cemetery Survey Number: FXlib072
Located at the dead end of Naylor Rd., Centreville, Virginia.

These headstones are quite unique. I have never seen grave markers exactly like these before. There are three of these headstones at Cub Run. They appear to be made of concrete. I am uncertain if they are homemade or commercially purchased, but there are no maker marks. All three stone's glass plates are broken. This may be due to vandalism or the stones "settling." Whatever was written or placed behind these glass plates is no longer visible.

Someone has written "Robinson" on the surface of the glass plate. Earlier formal surveys of this cemetery have recorded many Robinson family members interred here. [I would go as far as saying that this is "Robinson Country." A well known free black family that owned land in this part of Northern Virginia.]
